AlexAlexandra Morgan Carrasco (American professional soccer player) plays as a striker. She also serves as captain of the San Diego Wave FC of National Women's Soccer League, the top division of professional soccer for women. From 2018 to 2020, she co-captained America's women's national soccer squad with Megan Rapinoe. [8][99 Morgan was drafted as the number one player in the Western New York Flash's 2011 WPS Draft shortly after she was able to graduate early from University of California, Berkeley. Morgan played for the California Golden Bears. Morgan made her professional debut there and was instrumental in helping the team win the league championship. Morgan 22, then 22 years aged, was the smallest national player in the FIFA Women's World Cup 2011 where she placed second. In the 2012 London Olympics she scored the game-winning goal in the 123rd minute in the semi-final clash against Canada. She was second in the United States to have 28 goals and 20 assists in 2012, which makes her the sixth and youngest prolific player in the country to achieve 20 goals in a single year. She was then awarded the U.S. Soccer Female Athlete of Year and was also a FIFA World Player of the Year finalist. Morgan also helped the United States win their titles at the 2015 and 2019 FIFA Women's World Cups, in which she was selected to the Dream Team for both tournaments as well as winning the Silver Boot in 2019.
